Seal matrix

Description:

This seal matrix was found on private ground in the Norwich area by a metal detector user who immediately reported it to the Portable Antiquities Officer at Norfolk Museums Service. Local archaeologists and experts at the British Museum conducted a detailed examination of the seal. From the quality and style of its workmanship, experts deduced the seal was part of a ring dating to 648. Read more
